Chronic venous insufficiency
Chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins of the lower limbs are among the most frequent pathologies in adults. They are due to damage of the valves in the veins that help keep the blood flowing towards the heart.
In France today, over 22 million adults suffer from venous insufficiency (57% of women and 26% of men suffer from vascular disease). Cosmetic concerns generally prompt women to consult for the first time. Men, in contrast, tend to consult at a much later stage, after varicose veins have already formed.
